Motorcyclist airlifted from crash in Phelps after driver fails to yield right of way

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on a personal injury accident that happened at the intersection of State Route 488 and County Road 20 in Phelps involving a motorcyclist.

Deputies say a sedan operated by 50-year-old Adam Stickles, of Clifton Springs was traveling west on Route 488 when a motorcycle operated by 47-year-old Christopher Odit, of Lyons was traveling east.

Stickles started to turn left onto County Road 20 but failed to yield the right of way to Odit. The two collided and Odit was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with apparent leg injuries.

Stickles was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
