One airlifted, two hospitalized after serious Hopewell crash

A two-vehicle crash on 5&20 in front of the Hill Top Diner in Hopewell resulted in injuries to both drivers, as reported by Ontario County Sheriffโ€™s Office on Monday.

The incident involved 80-year-old Howard R. Vansickle from Stanley, driving a 2014 GMC Sierra, and 53-year-old Sean W. Musto from Penn Yan, in a 1994 Toyota pickup. The crash occurred when Vansickle, heading west, made a turn in front of the eastbound Musto.

Emergency services, including Mercy Flight, Canandaigua Ambulance, and local fire departments, were quickly on the scene to assist. Both drivers were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment, with Vansickle airlifted by Mercy Flight and Musto taken by ambulance. Their conditions are reported as stable.

The Ontario County Sheriffโ€™s Office Crime Scene Unit is investigating the cause of the accident, which kept Route 5&20 open to one lane of traffic.
