One airlifted, two seriously injured and remain hospitalized after Cayuga County crash

Sheriff Brian Schenck provided an update Friday afternoon on a crash that happened around 5:20 p.m. on Thursday.

A little after 5 p.m. first responders were called to a two-car crash in the town of Genoa along State Route 90 and Creek Road.

A vehicle traveling west went off the north side of the road before re-entering and crossing into oncoming traffic.

Schenck says the two cars collided with the operator of the westbound vehicle being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. The Sheriff added that both remain hospitalized with serious injuries at this time.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Schenck said names of those involved are not being released at this time.

The sheriffโ€™s office was assisted by the King Ferry Fire Department, Genoa Fire Department, Locke Fire Department, Southern Cayuga Ambulance, LifeNet, Cayuga County Office of Emergency Services, New York State Police, New York State DOT, and Cayuga County 911.
