An early Saturday stabbing in Auburn has resulted in one person hospitalized and another under arrest.
The Auburn Police Department responded to the incident near Perrine and State streets around 1:10 a.m. The victim, who had suffered multiple lacerations, was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Although the injuries were severe, they are reported to be non-life threatening.
Kenneth Byrd was subsequently arrested following a police investigation. He has been charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both of which are classified as felonies.
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
