Ontario County’s Flooding Information Center, established to deal with the aftermath of the extensive floods on July 9, ceased operations on Friday.
The floods, which affected over 180 residential and apartment buildings, resulted in temporary beach closures and prompted Governor Kathy Hochul to request an emergency disaster declaration from President Joe Biden, a request that was granted on July 22.
With the closure of the Flooding Information Center, residents still in need of flood-related aid are being instructed to dial 211 for assistance, according to county officials. The closure marks a significant point in the recovery process from the disruptive flooding event.
