Steuben County authorities have arrested Joseph R. Hetlan, 42, of Painted Post on September 6, 2023, in connection with a narcotics investigation from earlier this year.
The arrest follows a March 2023 search warrant execution concerning alleged drug sales in Painted Post, which later led to a Grand Jury Indictment.
Investigators allege that Hetlan possessed multiple batches of methamphetamine and an illegal weapon at his home.
Charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Hetlan was arraigned in Steuben County Court and has since been placed in Steuben County Jail.
Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard extended gratitude to both the City of Corning and Village of Painted Post Police Departments for their collaboration on the investigation.
