Palmyra man charged with child endangerment after CPS report

A Palmyra man, Wilson Vega Jr., 29, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation initiated by a Child Protective Services hotline report. The Palmyra Police Department, in collaboration with Wayne County Child Protective Services, responded to the allegations on Wednesday, January 24 at 6:45 p.m.

The investigation revealed that Vega allegedly used excessive disciplinary measures on an eleven-year-old boy on January 17, 2024, resulting in visible bruises. This incident led to the legal action taken against Vega to protect the childโ€™s welfare.

Vega has been released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Palmyra Village Court on Tuesday, March 5 at 5 p.m. to respond to the charges. This case underscores the communityโ€™s commitment to safeguarding childrenโ€™s well-being and the importance of reporting suspected child abuse.
