Penn Yan man arrested for resisting after larceny investigation

In Penn Yan, 45-year-old Michael D. Moore faces charges of petit larceny and resisting arrest following an investigation by local police into a recent theft. Moore, a Penn Yan resident, was identified as the individual responsible for stealing a bottle of liquor from a local business on January 21.

Upon locating Moore on Lake Street, Penn Yan Police attempted to apprehend him. However, Moore actively resisted arrest, leading to a brief physical altercation before officers successfully took him into custody. This resistance added to the severity of his charges.

After his arrest, Moore was brought to the police department for processing. He was charged with petit larceny for the theft and resisting arrest for his non-compliance during the apprehension. Following the processing, Moore was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to present himself at the Penn Yan Village Court at a future date to respond to these charges.
