In a recent announcement, the Price Chopper supermarket located at 3863 State Route 31 in the Town of Clay has disclosed its plans for permanent closure by mid-April. The decision, declared on Thursday, comes as the store prepares to shut down operations on Saturday, April 19, marking the end of its service to the local community.
According to Blaine Bringhurst, president of Price Chopper/Market 32, the closure follows an extensive review of the store’s ongoing and future business prospects. “After a careful examination, we’ve decided that closing the store is the necessary step forward. We are thankful for the loyalty and support from our employees and customers throughout our presence in the community,” stated Bringhurst.
The company has also confirmed that all 103 staff members, comprising 24 full-time and 79 part-time employees, will be offered positions at other Price Chopper locations within the Central New York region. Bringhurst expressed the difficulty of the decision but emphasized the company’s commitment to making strategic choices for its sustainable growth and well-being.
