Repeat Corning felons face serious drug charges after two-month investigation concludes

Cory M. Johnson and Carissa J. Thompson, both residents of Corning, were arrested on December 23rd after a no-knock search warrant was executed at their residence in the former Old Stanton Hotel.

Corning City Police confirmed the arrest following the seizure of a substantial quantity of methamphetamine and cash from the property. The operation was part of a two-month investigation into alleged methamphetamine sales and possession linked to the apartmentโ€™s occupants.

Both Johnson and Thompson, who are repeat felons, face charges of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Thompson, currently on New York State Parole for drug-related convictions, was processed at the Corning Police Department along with Johnson before being transferred to the Steuben County jail for arraignment.

Due to their previous felony convictions, they are being held at the Steuben County Jail without bail. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities indicate that additional charges may be forthcoming.
