Stephen Nicosia, a 66-year-old Level Two sex offender, has been arrested on a felony charge for failing to register an address as mandated by law.
This is the second time Nicosia has faced such charges.
The Ontario County Supreme Court issued the warrant following an investigation that began in October 2021.
The Sheriffโs Office reported that Nicosia had fled his parole address and subsequently failed to register any new locations, leading to the issuance of the warrant and a separate parole absconder warrant.
Nicosia, who was found in Florida, was extradited back to New York by New York State Parole.
Following his extradition, he was arraigned before the Ontario County Supreme Court and is currently being held at Ontario County Jail without bail.
His history includes a conviction in September 2014 for sexually abusing a child under the age of 11, for which he was sentenced to five years in prison.
The recent arrest underscores ongoing legal efforts to monitor and regulate the activities of registered sex offenders.
