The Buffalo Sabres are preparing for the 2023 NHL Draft, which is set to begin June 28, but the club is reportedly talking to teams about a possible trade for Victor Olofsson.
TSNโs Darren Drager reported Thursday that a few teams have been calling Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams about the forward, but no deal is close at the moment.
This comes days after Lance Lysowksi of The Buffalo News reported that Olofsson expects to be moved this summer but has not asked for a trade.
Olofsson has one year remaining on his current contract, with a pretty sizable cap hit of $4.75 million.ย
The 27-year-old is coming off a 28-goal season but was a healthy scratch for a handful of games.
It makes sense for Buffalo to trade him because his style of play doesnโt fit the team, and the club needs to make room for younger players.
