The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says one person was taken into custody after an investigation in Ontario.
Willie J. Mathews, 65, of Rocehster has been arrested following that two-car crash in the town of Ontario. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
The incident occurred when Mathews allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of Ridge Road and State Route 350, causing the collision before fleeing. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Authorities were alerted to Mathews’ heavily damaged vehicle traveling along Ridge Road after receiving several calls to the Wayne County 911 center.
