Romulus begins mascot search with new committee: Community can engage in multiple ways

The Romulus Central School Mascot Committee, a new entity comprising students, staff, parents, alumni, administrators, and board of education members, convened for the first time on June 29, 2023.

Led by Superintendent Marty Rotz and Board President Rachelle Fletcher, the group is tasked with the selection of a new school mascot and logo, in line with state regulations. The committeeโ€™s main objective is to choose a representation that the school community can take pride in.

In its first meeting, the committee settled on a plan to gather suggestions from the wider community through a survey, which will open during the 4th of July week and close on July 16th. The survey seeks ideas for the new mascot and logo, along with the reasoning behind these choices. Based on the feedback, the committee will create a shortlist of finalists. The ultimate decision will then be left to a student vote at the beginning of the new school year. The committee anticipates unveiling the winning mascot and logo during the Romulus Homecoming event in October.

The survey is accessible via the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeIa0_6ihc06XWtMMGGxByrc8mjLXRvOzx42fHQGtJPHuyy6g/viewform?usp=pp_url.

Apart from online submission, the community can also present their ideas by calling 607-869-5391 ext. 399, sending an email to [emailย protected], or leaving a comment card at the schoolโ€™s main office.
