Ronny Mauricio hits first MLB home run in Mets win over Diamondbacks

The New York Mets (66-78) used the long ball to pick up a 7-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks (76-70) on Tuesday night at Citi Field, evening the four-game series at a game apiece.

New York smacked three home runs, the first of which came from Ronny Mauricio, who crushed a 440-foot two-run shot, his first Major League homer.

Pete Alonso belted his 44th long ball of the season while Francisco Alvarez drilled his 23rd. Brandon Nimmo and DJ Stewart each collected three hits.

Jose Butto turned in another strong outing, tossing five innings of one-run ball while walking three and striking out seven.

The Mets will hand the ball to Joey Lucchesi on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. as they look to take two of the first three games.
