Sabres comeback falls short in road loss to Panthers

The Buffalo Sabres had their three-game win streak snapped on Tuesday night with a 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers at the Amerant Bank Arena.

Buffalo jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first period but gave up three consecutive goals and trailed 3-1 with 10 minutes remaining in regulation. The Sabres finally got their second goal with eight minutes left, but the comeback fell short.

Dylan Cozens (12) and Tage Thompson (17) scored for the Sabres while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 35 saves.

Buffalo went 1-for-4 on the power play and 3-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will stay in Florida and visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday at 7 p.m.
