Sabres comeback falls short in third straight loss

The Buffalo Sabres, once again, fell behind early and could not complete a comeback as they lost 2-1 to the Nashville Predators at KeyBank Center on Sunday night, dropping to 10-13-2 on the season.

Buffalo trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes and had two periods to mount a comeback, but Victor Olofsson scored the lone goal on a penalty shot in the second period, his third of the season.

The Sabres did outshoot the Predators 35-29 but had no power play opportunities.

Goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 27 saves, including some big ones down the stretch to keep Buffalo in the game.

Box Score

The Sabres will try to snap a three-game skid on Tuesday when they host the Detroit Red Wings at 7:30 p.m.
