The Buffalo Sabres (11-10-2) battled back from a two-goal third-period deficit but fell to the Vancouver Canucks (12-7-3), 4-3, in overtime on Friday evening at KeyBank Center.
Dylan Cozens and Alex Tuch scored goals in the final seven minutes of regulation to tie the game before Vancouver’s Connor Garland tapped in the game-winner with just over a minute remaining in overtime.
Bowen Byram also found the back of the net for the Sabres, while Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 18 saves.
Buffalo went 0-for-5 on the power play and outshot the Canucks 34-22.
