Sabres fall to Maple Leafs in overtime

The Buffalo Sabres picked up a point but fell 2-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena.

Buffalo trailed 1-0 early in the second period but tied the game four minutes later on Victor Olofssonโ€™s fifth of the season. After neither team found the back of the net in the third, Auston Matthews scored the game-winner at 4:20 in OT.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 25 saves between the pipes. Buffalo went 0-for-2 on the man advantage and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The Sabres will try to snap a two-game skid on Thursday when they visit the Nashville Predators at 8 p.m.
