Sabres roll to road win over Canadiens

The Buffalo Sabres began the new year with a 6-1 road victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night.

Six players finished with multi-point games for Buffalo (16-19-4). Jeff Skinner led the way with a goal and three helpers. Tage Thompson found the back of the net twice and tallied an assist. Jack Quinn (1+1), Casey Mittelstadt, and Rasmus Dahlin (1+1) had two points each, while Alex Tuch added a pair of assists.

Devon Levi stopped 32-of-33 shots in his first NHL game in his hometown.

Buffalo finished 2-for-4 on the power play and a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
