The Buffalo Sabres made a third trade before Friday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline, sending veteran defenseman Erik Johnson to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2024.
The 35-year-old Johnson signed a one-year contract with Buffalo last summer and scored three goals in 50 games.
Philadelphia (33-23-8) is chasing a playoff spot and currently sits third in the Metropolitan Division, four points ahead of the New York Islanders.
Johnson joins Kyle Okposo and Casey Mittelstadt as players who have been traded from the Sabres.
Kyle leads sports coverage and hosts the Concrete Jungle podcast. Have a lead or question? Send it to [email protected].
