The Buffalo Sabres made a trade Saturday night, sending defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Lyubushkin, who is heading into the second season of a two-year, $5.5 million contract with an average annual value of $2.75 million, scored two goals and 14 points in 68 games with the Sabres last season.
The 29-year-old has five goals and 39 points in 279 career NHL games.
Rasmus Dahlin, Owen Power, Mattias Samuelsson, Henri Jokiharju, Connor Clifton, Erik Johnson, Riley Stillman, Jacob Bryson, and Kale Clague (two-way deal) are the nine defensemen currently on the roster.
