In a move to adjust wages, Seneca County’s Board of Supervisors has approved a 3.5% pay hike for 28 elected and appointed officials for the year 2024.
The resolution passed on Oct. 10 after a public hearing where no comments were made. The pay raise impacts all 14 members of the Board of Supervisors. The elected chairman, who will be selected in January, will earn $19,223, seeing an increase from $18,573 in 2023. Meanwhile, the remaining board members are set to receive $15,149, up from this year’s $14,637.
Several notable changes include the Sheriff’s role seeing a salary decrease to $102,660 in the wake of Sheriff Tim Luce’s upcoming retirement, down from $108,665. Christina Lotz, the County Clerk, will earn $84,367, up from $81,079, while the part-time County Treasurer, Les Marquart, will get $43,749, a slight increase from $42,270.
Elevated salaries for other designated roles include the County Attorney, pegged at $135,595, the Commissioner of Human Services at $112,388, and the Director of Public Health receiving $106,270. The newly appointed County Manager, Kyle Lovell, will draw a salary of $150,000 in 2024.
