The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is hosting a community update on the Seneca Lake Fishery on July 9, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the West Lake Road Fire Association. DEC Region 8 Fisheries Biologist Brad Hammers will lead the discussion.
Attendees will learn about recent fisheries surveys conducted on Seneca Lake, including mid-lake and stream surveys, and updates on the spring sea lamprey treatment. Hammers and DEC staff conduct annual electroshock sampling on rainbow trout in Catharine Creek to document metrics like sex, weight, and sea lamprey scarring.
