A serious accident on State Route 96 on Thursday resulted in the severe injury of 19-year-old Skylynn Fox and the death of her dog, Zuko.
According to family Fox was struck by a vehicle when she rushed into the road to rescue her dog, who had been hit by a car.
The incident, which left Fox with a broken pelvis and a shattered rotator cuff, led to her being flung approximately 120 feet in the air.
In the wake of the accident, Foxโs family is calling on the Town of Manchester to implement traffic safety reforms at the intersection of Route 96 and Kyte Road, where the accident occurred.
They are urging for measures such as the installation of a four-way stop or a roundabout to prevent future injuries and accidents.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page set up to support Foxโs recovery journey has managed to raise $4,000 by Saturday morning. The family shared that Fox is now out of surgery and on a road to recovery, with her right shoulder successfully operated on, and her pelvis stable enough to not require surgery. The online communityโs support, as shown through the fundraising campaign, has been greatly appreciated by the family.
