Sheriff: Auburn man gives false identity during overnight incident

Sheriff Brian Schenck announced the arrest of 26-year-old Hayden R. Powers of Auburn on charges of false personation, a Class B misdemeanor, early on March 21. The arrest followed an encounter with deputies who spotted a suspicious vehicle in the Grant Avenue Plaza parking lot in the Town of Sennett around 12:20 a.m.

Upon investigation, Powers initially misled the deputies by providing a fake name and birthdate, despite being warned about the consequences of giving false information. Once his true identity was verified, Powers was taken into custody for false personation.

After processing, Powers was released and issued an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sennett Court at a later date.
