Jason Loper, a Steuben County resident, was apprehended this week following a high-speed police chase that occurred earlier in December.
The incident began on December 7 when Loper, aware of an existing probation violation warrant, fled a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in Bath.
The pursuit, which extended through several towns, was eventually called off by the Steuben County Sheriffโs Department due to safety concerns, as Loper committed numerous traffic violations including reckless driving.
Loperโs arrest came after multiple warrants were issued in the towns affected by the chase. He faces a slew of charges including aggravated unlicensed operation, reckless driving, fleeing an officer, and various other charges.
