In Rochester, U.S. District Court sentenced Ryan Hamilton, a 32-year-old from Bath, Steuben County, to 13-and-a-half years in prison followed by 15 years of probation for possession of child pornography.
This sentence comes as a reconviction, marking a serious repeat offense for Hamilton. Additionally, the court has ordered Hamilton to pay $18,000 in restitution.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan K. McGuire, who oversaw the case, disclosed that Hamilton had prior convictions in Steuben County Court in August 2016 and September 2017 for possessing sexual performances by a child less than 16 years old.
In October 2019, while under New York State Parole supervision, Hamilton was found in possession of approximately 87 videos and 1,124 images of child pornography on an SD card. The confiscated material notably included images and videos of children under the age of 12 and depicted acts of violence.
