Syracuse blows past Western Michigan to begin season 2-0 (full coverage)

The Syracuse football team is 2-0 to begin the season for the second straight year after blowing past Western Michigan (1-1), 48-7, on Saturday evening at the JMA Wireless Dome.ย 

Running back LeQuint Allen had himself a big day, scoring three touchdowns on eight carries.ย 

Quarterback Garrett Schrader played just the first half, completing 19-of-30 passes for 286 yards with one touchdown. He also ran for 31 yards and a score.ย 

Wide receiver Donovan Brown caught an 89-yard touchdown, his first career TD. ย 

Defensive back Jason Simmons picked off Western Michiganโ€™s Jack Salopek and returned it to the house.
