Syracuse basketball announced Wednesday evening that forward Benny Williams has been suspended from the team.
Williams “violated team rules” and is expected to rejoin the program soon, according to a post on X (Twitter) that was sent out before their exhibition game against St. Rose.
Williams, who is expected to be the starting forward for the Orange this season, played in the first preseason game last Friday, scoring 11 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
The Orange will open the regular season on Monday, November 6, at home against New Hampshire.
