Syracuse women’s lacrosse cruises past Pittsburgh for eighth straight win

Make it eight straight wins for the No. 3 Syracuse women’s lacrosse team as they cruised past Pittsburgh, 16-7, at  Cicero-North Syracuse (CNS) Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Orange improved to 11-3 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in ACC play.

Syracuse led just 2-1 at the 9:49 mark in the first quarter but then scored 10 unanswered goals to take a 12-1 lead at halftime and never looked back.

Emma Tyrrell led the way with six goals and an assist. Payton Rowley and Natalie Smith recorded hat tricks, while Olivia Adamson, Meghan Rode, Joely Caramelli, and Savannah Sweitzer also found the back of the net. Goalkeeper Delaney Sweitzer made three saves, and Daniella Guyette stopped two.

Syracuse will be back in action next Saturday when they visit the Clemson Tigers at 12 p.m.
