In Rochester 19-year-old Tajier A. Orum was arrested by state police for multiple charges, including the serious offense of possessing a loaded stolen handgun. The arrest occurred after a routine traffic stop on Hudson Avenue in the city.
Orum faces several charges: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree, a C Felony; Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree, an E Felony; Resisting Arrest, an A Misdemeanor; and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd, also an A Misdemeanor. The handgun in question was reported stolen from Ohio, adding to the severity of the charges.
Following the arrest, Orum was taken to the Monroe County Jail, where he awaits arraignment. The arrest highlights ongoing concerns over illegal weapons and the importance of law enforcement’s role in addressing such issues.
