Tompkins Financial Advisors appoints John Shea as senior portfolio manager

Tompkins Financial Advisors continues to expand its team of financial specialists in Central New York, with the recent appointment of John Shea as Senior Portfolio Manager. Working out of the firm’s Ithaca office, Shea’s role will involve devising and implementing investment strategies tailored to client objectives. As a part of the investment strategy team and investment committee, Shea will manage and monitor client portfolios while overseeing Core Equity and Dividend Income stock portfolios.

Senior Vice President and Managing Director at Tompkins Financial Advisors, Jennifer L. Green, praised Shea’s addition to the team, citing his extensive financial background and diverse expertise as invaluable assets. “With his track record of delivering exceptional results for clients and addressing their unique financial needs, we are eager to witness the positive impact he will have on Tompkins’ clientele,” she commented.

Shea’s 27-year career in the financial services sector includes roles as an investment officer with Chemung Canal Trust Company and a senior consultant at BNY Mellon in the Risk and Analytics group. His previous duties involved working with large institutional pension funds, endowments, and foundation clients across the US in investment performance reporting and risk measurement. Shea, a University of Scranton and Boston University graduate, currently resides in Ithaca, New York, where he serves as vice president on the board at the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton.
