A two-car accident in Yates County, New York, resulted in injuries to two women from Naples on Wednesday. The collision occurred around 4 p.m. on State Route 245 in the town of Middlesex. According to authorities, 71-year-old Sharon Hogan was following the vehicle ahead too closely and subsequently rear-ended it as it slowed down. The car was driven by 50-year-old Carrie Armstrong.
Hogan, who was ticketed for following too closely and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, complained of chest pain following the incident. Armstrong reported neck pain. Both women were transported to Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua for medical attention.
The accident prompted responses from the Middlesex and Rushville fire departments, Yates County Sheriffโs Office, Middlesex Ambulance, and Gorham Ambulance, who all assisted at the scene.
