Tyson Foods is recalling approximately 30,000 pounds of its chicken nuggets after reports that they may be contaminated with metal pieces, posing a potential safety hazard.
The affected product is the 29-ounce package of โTyson Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Pattiesโ marked with a Best If Used By date of SEP 04, 2024. Consumers can identify the recalled items by lot codes 2483BRV0207 through 2483BRV0210 and an establishment number โP-7211โ printed on the packaging.
Despite the expiration of the best-by date, the U.S. Department of Agricultureโs Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) advises that these products might still be held in household freezers. The recalled nuggets were distributed to a number of states, including Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The FSIS disclosed that the recall follows a consumer report of a minor oral injury associated with the chicken nugget consumption.
Consumers with the potentially contaminated chicken nuggets are instructed by Tyson to dispose of the product immediately. To facilitate the recall process, customers are advised to remove the UPC and date code from the package before discarding the product and to contact Tyson Foods at 1-855-382-3101 for further information.
