Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen earns first career shutout as Sabres blank Avalanche 

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 23 saves to record his first career shutout in the Buffalo Sabres 4-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday afternoon at KeyBank Center. 

JJ Peterka, Casey Mittelstadt, Tyson Jost, and Rasmus Dahlin scored the Sabres, who improved to 4-5-0 on the season. 

Jeff Skinner tallied a pair of assists, extending his point streak to five games. Alex Tuch, Owen Power, Tage Thompson, and Henri Jokiharju also notched assists. 

Buffalo went a perfect 6-for-6 on the penalty kill and 0-for-3 on the power play.

The Sabres will try to get back to .500 on Wednesday when they face the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m.
