UPDATE: Sheriff identifies 16-year-old killed in Yates crash

Sheriff Ron Spike provided an update on the fatal accident that happened in Yates County over the weekend.

Tyreace Gregory, 16, of Dundee was identified as the sole fatality of the wreck.

Spike said the investigation into the crash remains active at this time.

One dead, another hospitalized after rollover crash in Yates County

A 16-year-old male from Starkey, Yates County was killed in a roll-over crash in the Town of Barrington, with police responding to the incident at around 7 a.m. on Monday.

According to the Yates County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the vehicle veered off the road while traveling south on state Route 14A, subsequently rolling multiple times and hitting a culvert and several trees before coming to rest on its hood.

The driver, a 20-year-old male from Dundee, was transported to Robert Packard Hospital for treatment.

The fatal accident, which led to the immediate death of the passenger at the scene, prompted the response of the Yates County Sheriffโ€™s Office, the Yates County Coroner, and the Yates County Accident Investigation Unit. The crash is currently under investigation.
