UR Medicine Thompson Health is set to host an informational session on March 25 for individuals interested in starting their careers as certified nursing assistants (CNAs). The session, aimed at guiding participants through the process, highlights Thompson’s commitment to cover the costs of a five-week CNA training course. Moreover, enrollees will receive compensation during their training, alongside immediate part-time benefits.
Upon completion, graduates are assured a CNA position at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, renowned for its five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Thompson encourages a minimum one-year employment tenure post-certification, supporting CNAs who wish to further their education with tuition reimbursement programs and grants, as well as offering promotional opportunities.
The information session, scheduled for an hour, will take place at the Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. Prospective CNAs are required to register in advance for this opportunity, which aligns with Thompson’s recognition as one of the “Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare” in 2023 by Becker’s Hospital Review.
