The Victor Central School District has organized a special graduation ceremony for 21 senior players from the Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team who missed the official ceremony at Innovative Field due to their State Championship game on Long Island.
RochesterFirst.com reported on Monday that players will have the opportunity to cross the stage tonight at the JS/SH auditorium.
Initially, the Victor lacrosse players had an agreement with the Garden City School District to reschedule Sunday’s game to 9 a.m. so they could attend their graduation.
However, Garden City later changed the game time, citing the need for their players to have more recovery.
School officials told RochesterFirst.com that while the outcome of the game was not what students hoped for, having the ability to walk across the stage was a bigger victory.
