Volunteer firefighter suffers sudden cardiac arrest responding to fire in Wayne County

A Fairville firefighter experienced a cardiac arrest on Sunday while responding to a structure fire in the town of Arcadia. The incident was confirmed by Newark-Arcadia EMS, which provided immediate medical assistance at the scene.

Officials confirmed they responded to the fire on Fairville Maple Ridge Road just before 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they were alerted to the firefighterโ€™s medical emergency and quickly initiated CPR and other lifesaving measures.

The firefighter was subsequently rushed to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for further treatment. As of now, no additional information regarding the firefighterโ€™s condition or identity has been disclosed.
