Police in Canandaigua arrested a Waterloo man following an undercover investigation in the city.
Sergio Ortega, 25, of Waterloo was arrested for one count of second-degree attempted rape.
He was arrested after an internet conversation with a person Ortega thought was a 14-year-old child.
He then traveled to Canandaigua to meet up with the teen to have sex with them. However, the teen was actually an undercover officer.
He was taken into custody without incident.
