Terry Winslow has withdrawn from the race for a seat on Auburn’s City Council, leaving only two Democrats seeking the party’s nomination.
The remaining candidates are Cayuga County Legislator Christina Calarco and Auburn School Board member Dr. Rhonda Overstreet-Wilson.
With only two Democrats running, the party may avoid a primary election.
The two seats up for grabs in this year’s election belong to Councilor Tim Locrastro and Mayor Michael Quill, who recently announced that he will not seek re-election.
Councilor Jimmy Giannettino has declared his intention to succeed Quill as Mayor.
Locrastro has yet to announce whether he will run for re-election.
