Winter Weather Advisory: How much snow falls in the FLX?

Expect a mixed bag of precipitation across the Finger Lakes region today with some locations picking up a decent amount of wet, slushy snow.

Precipitation is moving northward across Upstate New York and will bring a few inches of accumulation, as it changes from rain to snow by noon, across the higher elevations.

The National Weather Service is continuing the Winter Weather Advisory for a handful of counties in the region including Ontario, Yates, Livingston, and Steuben.

If youโ€™re not in these hilltop communities you can expect 1-3 inches of snow. Those higher elevations could see 4-6, but will likely remain on the lower end of that scale.

That said, the snow will be incredibly wet and heavy. So, moving it will come with a set of health risks that recent snowfalls have not. Use caution shoveling or pushing this snow as it will have a high water content.

Roads will likely become slushy as the evening approaches, so use caution across the region.
