Yankees bring back RHP Luke Weaver

The New York Yankees added pitching depth Thursday, bringing back right-hander Luke Weaver on a one-year, $2 million contract, pending a physical, per MLB insider Robert Murray.

The deal includes a club option for 2025 and can max out at $8.25 million.

Weaver, 30, made three starts for New York last season after he was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. He posted a 3.38 ERA over 13.1 innings on the mound.

In 144 career big-league games, the right-hander owns a 5.14 ERA across 574.1 innings.

The Yankees are still looking to upgrade the starting rotation, MLB Networkโ€™s Jon Heyman reported.
