Yankees cap off road trip with blowout loss to Rangers

The New York Yankees (15-14) capped off their seven-game road trip with an embarrassing 15-2 loss to the Texas Rangers (17-11) at Globe Life Field in Arlington.ย 

Nestor Cortes gave up a career-high seven runs, and the offense was a no-show again. ย 

The bullpen also had one of the worst performances of the season. Albert Abreu surrendered six runs in relief, and Nick Ramirez allowed two.ย 

New Yorkโ€™s first run came in the third inning on Oswald Perazaโ€™s RBI groundout. Kyle Higashioka plated the second run with a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning.

The Yankees will head home to begin a three-game series with the Cleveland Guardians on Monday at Yankee Stadium. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.ย
