The New York Yankees (15-14) capped off their seven-game road trip with an embarrassing 15-2 loss to the Texas Rangers (17-11) at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Nestor Cortes gave up a career-high seven runs, and the offense was a no-show again.
The bullpen also had one of the worst performances of the season. Albert Abreu surrendered six runs in relief, and Nick Ramirez allowed two.
New York’s first run came in the third inning on Oswald Peraza’s RBI groundout. Kyle Higashioka plated the second run with a bases-loaded walk in the ninth inning.
The Yankees will head home to begin a three-game series with the Cleveland Guardians on Monday at Yankee Stadium. The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
