The New York Yankees closed out the 2023 season with a 5-2 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium, finishing 82-80.
Michael King allowed four runs over four innings of work, and the offense could not erase the four-run deficit.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa provided the only offense, lining a two-out, two-run single in the sixth inning. Austin Wells had three of the teamโs seven hits.
Jhony Brito surrendered a run over three innings, while Greg Weissert recorded three outs.
