Yankees hire Sean Casey as new hitting coach

The New York Yankees have already found their new hitting coach, replacing Dillon Lawson who was fired Sunday.

The club announced Monday evening that they have hired 49-year-old Sean Casey.

Casey played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball and was a career .302 hitter. He was teammates with Manager Aaron Boone from 1998 to 2003 when they both played for the Cincinnati Reds.

After Casey retired in 2008, he was hired by MLB Network and had worked there since. This will be his first coaching job.
