Yankees rally past Diamondbacks in home finale

The New York Yankees (79-77) rallied past the Arizona Diamondbacks (82-74), 6-4, on Monday afternoon in the final home game of the 2023 season.

Austin Wells hit his second big-league home run, which tied the game at two. Oswald Peraza smacked his season home run of the season and added a bases-loaded walk. Everson Pereira and Estevan Florial contributed with RBI.

Clarke Schmidt allowed two runs over four innings while walking three and striking out three. Nick Ramirez and Ian Hamilton also gave up runs.

The Yankees will head to Toronto to begin a three-game series with the Blue Jays on Tuesday at 7:07 p.m.
