The New York Yankees have been looking to upgrade their starting rotation, and they did that Thursday night, agreeing to a two-year, $37 million contract with veteran right-hander Marcus Stroman, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported.
The deal includes a vesting option for a third year and is pending a physical.
Stroman, 32, was an All-Star with the Chicago Cubs in 2023 and had a great first half but struggled down the stretch and finished with a 3.95 ERA.
The Long Island native owns a 3.65 ERA in nearly 1,400 innings in the big leagues.
Stroman joins a rotation that already includes Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon, and Nestor Cortes.
