Yankees swept by Braves, fall under .500

The New York Yankees (60-61) suffered a second straight shutout loss and got swept by the Atlanta Braves (78-42) after falling 2-0 in the series finale on Wednesday night at Truist Park.ย 

New York generated just four hits, three more than Tuesday, but went 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position, leaving five on base. Aaron Judge, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, and Billy McKinney each struck out three times.

Randy Vรกsquez allowed both runs over 3 2/3 innings before Michael King (3 2/3 innings) and Keynan Middleton (1.0 innings) recorded scoreless outings.

The Yankees will get the day off Thursday before they open a three-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Friday night in the Bronx.
